What should a carpet quote include?
A complete quote names the carpet, the metreage, the underlay, the gripper and trims, the fitting labour, any uplift and disposal, the delivery, and the total. If any of those are missing, you cannot compare it fairly with another quote.

- Fitting labour, itemised for stairs if relevant
- Uplift of the old carpet and its disposal

Where quotes usually differ
Two quotes for the same house often differ because one includes underlay and the other does not, or because one has calculated roll width waste properly and the other has quoted the floor area. Ask for the metreage figure and compare that first.

- Why is a warehouse cheaper than a showroom?
- A showroom orders your flooring in from a sample book. We buy clearance deals direct from suppliers and hold the rolls ourselves, so the same specification usually costs less.
