How long does carpet fitting take?
A single bedroom typically takes about an hour, a straight staircase one to two hours, and a three bedroom upstairs with stairs and landing usually takes most of a day. Preparation and furniture moving are what change those numbers.

Use these as a planning guide rather than a promise, because every house differs.
- Small bedroom or box room: around an hour
- Average double bedroom: one to one and a half hours
- Living room: one to two hours, longer if it is a large or awkward shape

What slows a job down
Furniture that still needs moving, old gripper that has to come up, loose boards, doors that need easing, and awkward access such as a first floor flat with no lift. None of these are dramatic on their own, but three of them together turn a day job into two.
Same day is often possible
Because everything is in stock, there is no lead time on materials. Small jobs can often be bought and laid the same day, and larger ones are usually arranged within days rather than weeks.

- Can I walk on it straight away?
- Yes, carpet can be walked on as soon as it is fitted. Glued down vinyl and LVT may need a little longer.
- Do I need to be home all day?
- Someone should be there to give access and approve the layout, but you do not need to stand over it.
- How soon can you fit?
- Usually within days, because the material is already on the floor here.
- Will you work out how much I need?

- Can I return flooring I did not use?
- Returns are typically 14 to 30 days on unused, unopened flooring, subject to product type.
