Price and value
Carpet remnants and offcuts
One room, one price, no waiting on a supplier order. Remnants are the fastest and cheapest way to finish a single space.
A remnant is a piece left after a bigger cut. It is not seconds and it is not damaged: it is the same carpet, in a piece that will only ever fit a certain size of room. Because we cannot sell it twice, it goes out at a clearance price, and because it is already cut it can leave with you the same day.
Remnants suit anyone with one awkward space to solve. A box room that never gets used, a landing that wore before the bedrooms did, a home office, a caravan, a van floor, a workshop, a cat run of a hallway that needs replacing every couple of years.

How to buy a remnant without wasting the trip
Remnants move quickly, so a bit of preparation is the difference between driving home with a floor and driving home annoyed.
Measure the longest and widest points
Include the doorway recess and any chimney breast. A room is rarely the rectangle you remember it as.
Add a working allowance
A fitter needs a margin to trim into. Tell the team the finished size and they will work out what piece can actually cover it.
Phone the day you plan to come
What is on the floor on Tuesday may be in a customer's car by Thursday. A quick call saves the journey.
Be flexible on colour
If you can live with two or three shades, your chances of landing a bargain roughly triple.
Remnants and stairs, the honest version
A staircase can be done from a remnant, but only if the piece runs the right way. Carpet has a pile direction and it must run down the flight, so a piece that is wide but short is often useless for stairs even when the square metres add up. Bring the number of treads and risers and the team will tell you straight away whether a piece works.
What we do with the very small pieces
Small offcuts still have a job. Door mats, under a dog bed, lining a cupboard, protecting a loft hatch route, padding out a van. Ask what is in the bin ends when you are in, because those rarely make it onto any list.

Carpet remnants, your questions answered
- What is the difference between a remnant and a roll end?
- A remnant is a piece left over after a cut, usually smaller and an odd shape of length. A roll end is the tail of a full roll, still on the tube and usually full width. Both are the same carpet as the full roll and both are priced down because the length is limited.
- Are remnants faulty or seconds?
- No. They are ordinary stock carpet in a piece we cannot sell as a full roll, which is the only reason the price drops.
- Can you tell me what remnants you have over the phone?
- Yes. Stock changes weekly, so ring Maidstone on 01622 828445 or Gillingham on 01634 481102 and the team will look at what is physically there that day.
- Can a remnant be fitted professionally?
- Yes. We work with trusted, fully vetted local fitters across Kent, and you can use your own fitter if you prefer.
- Can I return a remnant if I measured wrong?
- Returns are typically 14 to 30 days on unused, unopened flooring, subject to product type. Once a piece is cut to your room it is yours, so bring accurate sizes or let the team calculate quantities for you.
